(ABOVE LEFT:) You can get a decent view of several Arwings flying above Epona, and you can see the green lasers they fire. They fly in formation, and they shoot their lasers as a team. Some lasers will hit Link by mistake and deal no damage, but most will hit Epona. They are also more aggressive toward Epona than they are toward Link alone. (ABOVE RIGHT:) Epona is being shot in the back with a barrage of lasers while galloping at top speed, and a huge amount of damage sparks are flying from her back. The Arwings are toward the back of the picture, so the damage sparks mostly cover them up. Epona's thick and long back is a favorite target for Arwings, and they can easily fry her back even when she is running. They are quite capable of felling her with only shots to the back. (BELOW LEFT:) An Arwing has just shot Epona right through the head, yet she is still alive, showing that headshots are not fatal in this game. Arwings occasionally shoot Epona's head and neck, but these parts are no more vulnerable than her back. Because a laser has just triggered damage sparks from Link, the damage sparks from Epona's head did not display. For some reason, damage sparks from Link and Epona cannot be on-screen at the same time. (BELOW RIGHT:) Epona has reared up in frustration, and Arwings have seized the opportunity, shooting her in the chest as quickly as possible. Shooting the horse's prone chest like this is the quickest way to fell her, and the Arwings know this. If you make the mistake of letting Epona rear up, they will shoot her in the chest, dealing huge damage and possibly slaying her. Why are the Arwings attacking her, anyway? Are they hunting her for sport, or do they really think they can haul off several tons of fried horse meat on those tiny ships?
